January 2021

Okay, we made it... I'm not going to look around too hard though, I don't want to find anything else waiting for me. Let's get to the news, shall we.

Okay old news first; LV2 did good, I'm glad that people are enjoying the weird western gamelit harem story...damn that's a lot of tags. I've been real happy with it, and it appears you guys are as well. Can't wait to write the next book in the series.

I'm currently writing AR3. It's going to be another long one it seems as I'm already over 50k and nowhere near where I want to be. It's been a fun one to write so far though, and I'm looking forward to where the third book goes.

As for what is after that, I'm still uncertain. It'll either be LV3, or something new. It should be AG, but I still want to make an east coast trip before I write it. Maybe this year things will ease up and travel won't be so much a crapshoot.

Audio is in full swing at the moment. Podium has AG7 and has Tess scheduled to record it this month. Hopefully it'll be along in the next few months. Andie recorded BW5 and it's been waiting with ACX for weeks now, so maybe this month, or next month for it, we can never tell once we hand it off. And to top off the audio news Andie is currently recording AR2, which is good news.

For those wondering about audio for LV, Andie is going to do them, but I imposed on her to switch LV1 with AR2. When she gets to LV, I think she might do them back to back, which would be amazing, but time will tell.

In other news we all have to admit 2021, now read that out loud, and then groan. We're all hoping this year gets better than last, and let's be honest that's not a high bar to clear. Time will tell.

For personal news, Things continue as they have been for me. Allergy shots are still in progress, and hopefully one day I won't have the sinus problems I do from my allergies.  I know there was some other news to talk about...

Oh yeah, BW6 ebook will be out on the 6th of this month instead of the 25th. I did my best to get it as close to the start of the year as I could. I hope this helps everyone start the year on a good note. Oh but mind the onion cutting ninjas. My beta readers said they were out in force when they were reading.

And the very last thing to mention, Live Chat on Facebook will be on the 15th at 3 pm PST. That's 6 Eastern, and like 11 GMT. I hope to see people there while I answer  questions, ramble about stupid things, and then give away some of the challenge coins for those who helped me keep going.

Until next month, let's keep our heads down and hope that things are improving.

  5. My subscription to Amazon unlimited ends on the 5th. Smh. Dang it! ... dang it!!!! I just binged BW and LV for the past 3 ish days (time flys when you're reading). Love the stories so far, hope you keep on pumping them out like the good little word slave you are. Only complaint is that you build the plot very slowly (5th book and only now you're getting to the conflict), but tbh, it doesn't take away from your amazing writing. Your skill with words surpass many. Thanks.

    1. I don't write to have conflict in each book. I'm a rebel that way. Each book is just a small portion of the overall story.
Glad you are still enjoying them.

    1. I doubt it'll go to 200, but it'll take at least a few more books for the story to wrap up

    2. Just finished BW6 and can confirm that both you and those onions are evil.

To compensate I demand that the next book(s) include demigod babies Shaping the hell out of their home and exasperating their mothers while their father pulverizes anyone even glaring at his kids.

  9. Hey man this is my first time leaving a comment but I just have to say thanks for righting such amazing, immersive stories. Looking forward to binge reading binding words 6 tomorrow and I am stoked to have two of my favorite narrators Test Irondale and Andrea Parsnow reading more books by my favorite author. :)

  10. I just finished BW6 in record time and I have to say I really loved. There are only a few books that managed to give me a rollercoaster of Fellini’s like this. And yes the ninjas were cutting onions hard.
I appreciated the one small little Easter egg in the library:)
Can’t wait for the next book.

  11. Finished BW6, then went back to read the whole series. You're definitely one of the authors I respect a ton.

I do have some questions/quibbles (I always do) when it comes to parts of your story. You have the guard so openly corrupt that rumor would be running rampant in the city and I can't imagine how the Queens wouldn't be receiving complaints from all merchants who run caravans to or through the city. A city with that level of violence and unrest would destablize a large area around it.

You also have the annoying habit of making the villains overly powerful and far to Machiavellian. That seems very true here. I have my suspicions as to who is actually behind most of the trouble in BW6, and I'm still trying to piece together any motive that is logical and doesn't require the villain to have less political sense than your average slug. I'm sorry, but the level of violence and open corruption being displayed would result in investigations that no criminal is going to want to invite. Its just too unlikely they'd be able to control the investigation since it has to come through an outside force. And why target Sean. You have given Sharpeyes a motive, but he's not got the brains, nor the backing to commit most of the crimes we see. He has to be getting a push from someone, but all indications are that no one backing him would have any reason to notice Sean, as our hero is not making waves outside of Hearthglen.

But the fact that I can find that level of question says I am enjoying the series. I just hope that BW7 is a major leap forward in the plot. I think one reason that the Apocalypse Gates series started to flag was that books 3 through 6 basically tread the same path with little major advancement to the overall story or world. I like the Murderhobos of the main group, but they needed to have some greater purpose than wander and slowly integrate new people.

I'm reminded that Sean was sent after being told hints about the Agreement that the Tuatha made and the fact that the truth of the agreement could be found. Him starting to work towards that would make a lot of sense, especially as finding proof that the queens broke the agreement would save all of his people. And from all you've hinted, the queens never intended to honor the agreement once they forced the gods from the world.

    1. Some of this I can reply to and some I can't.
I disagree the villians are overly powerful or completely Machiavellian. Things will be coming out soon, but I can almost guarantee it won't be what people think. Most are expecting something far grander than what is being shown.
As for the corrupt guards, that really only got really bad and public once someone was removed form his position of power. So it wouldn't cause major waves until this book. The city itself was in turmoil but, there was a new lord just installed in the city, maybe that is not unexpected to the populace. The supporting characters did mention another bloody conflict a few books back as well, so maybe these things aren't unheard of.
I'm glad you are still enjoying the series.

  13. Thanks for another great book (BW6), and yes, the Onion Ninjas were out in full force. This has the most emotional content of any of your books (and I own/have read them all - multiple times). Loved that you didn't end on a cliffhanger, but left us readers something to anticipate in the future. Can't wait to read LV3 since you reference it in BW6. :-) Thanks for making all your series so full of characters to which readers can bind emotionally, and great plots and sub-plots.

  14. Hello!
I’m so glad I found this. I was searching in an effort to find LV3. I -cannot- wait!
In the meantime I will read(some of them again) the Binding Word series.

I read above that someone’s wife hates you. Well, this wife introduced you to her husband so maybe that evens it out a little. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hope your New Year is starting well. Have a good one!
