December 2019

Holy fucking hells, it's December already!? I swear time crawls, but before I seem to know it months have gone by. Okay let's get to it.

Okay so the big, big, big, news first. The next book was released at just after midnight this morning.
Apocalypse Gates Author's Cut book 5: Downtime and Death.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0826NL19H
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0826NL19H
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0826NL19H
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0826NL19H
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0826NL19H

That is the last ebook published for this year. The next one is going to be Binding Words 4: Forged Bonds, with a hopeful date of Janurary 20th. Patreon is starting to get chapters of that now.

Speaking of Patreon, it will be getting an overhaul late in December, so it'll be fresh and new come Janurary. All the information for that is already up as a post on Patreon, but it includes more chapters, and at the higher tiers even merch from the online store.

Audio is next:
Alpha World 8 is slated for release Dec 10th per Podium. I don't have a preorder link yet, but when I get one I'll be giving it out to all of you as soon as I can, via; Twitter, Facebook, Discord, etc.
Audio for AG5 is being handled by Tess Irondale, she has the script and will start recording it soon. Likely a couple of months out though, think February.

I think that covers the now, and short term future. Now we can rove a bit further afield.
With RQ not having done well, I'm pushing it to a series that will get hit here or there, and trying a new series to see if it can be as well received as AG and BW. It's a magic academy-cultivation mashup, don't want to spoil anything, but the MC is a magi and taken to the academy to train so he can serve his time for the empire before he is freed from service. It also mashes eastern and western themes, heh, it's going to be a different book, but that's normal for me. I'm almost done writing it now, and it's hitting over 120k so far, which is pretty lengthy for my books, and it doesn't finish the first year, just the first half of the year at the academy.

That wraps up everything for me to talk about, so let me thank you for taking the time to read my rambling mess of a blog. The year has gone, and the next one is coming fast, I hope you will continue to enjoy my works. Have happy holidays, which ever ones you celebrate, and I'll see you in the new year.

November 2019

Holy fucking hell it's already November? Well guess I should update you'll on what the hell is going on with me and my books.

Okay so let's recap first:
October saw the release of Resurrection Quest 1: Greenways Goblins as an ebook, pssst the audio is with Podium. It also saw the relase of BW3: Hearthglen Audio. I'll drop the links here just incase they are needed.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YYS2G8W
https://www.audible.com/pd/Hearthglen-Audiobook/B07ZG6JVHB

Okay now some bad news, RQ1 isn't living up to expectations, so it very well might get the coveted 3rd rotation slot. I'm holding out hope, and I'll be writing the second one next, but right now it might be an occasional book release instead of twice a year. The reviews just aren't coming in, and some who say they are dedicated readers of mine have hammered it with low star reviews which hurt it more. We'll see how it goes from here.

At the moment I'm writing the first of a different series, which was slated to be my free slot, to see if people like the premise. If they do and it does well it'll take up the 3rd slot instead. Again, time will tell. It's a magic academy, wuxia mash-up, my alpha readers have said it has good world building, we will see how you'll like it.

Patreon right now is getting chapters of AG5, as that is my next book release looking at early December. Fun story but it's a bit different then what some might expect. I loved it and my editors are hard at work on it. Beta readers should get it around mid November so we can meet the goal of release.

BW4 is done, and waiting for the editors, for when they finish AG5. I loved writing this one, and I'm eager to see how you all like it. BW5 is going to be so much fun to write when I get there, but I have other books to write before then.

Other Patreon news, I've got a poll up over there about restructuring the tiers and rewards to give a bigger selection, but also ones that build up, so the more you support the more you get. A lot of feedback so far, but feel free to drop in and give me your views. Restructure won't happen until the new year, as I want to close out as we started the year.

Discord has been quiet and that makes me a little sad. I do giveaways there, so drop by say hi, and let's see if we can't make it a busier place. Also the mailing list is good, but I think more of you should join if you haven't. Not only do you get a exclusive short story, you will only get email when a new ebook or audio book comes out, for those who aren't as obsessive about checking the internet for releases it's a great way to go.
https://schinhofenbooks.com/subscribe-daniel-schinhofen/

Okay I think that covers all the book related news. On non-book news, life has been kicking me for the last month plus, and looks like it's going to keep doing so for the short term at least. I'm keeping things going but same days, it's hard. Okay enough complaining from me.

I'll see you all next month,

October 2019

Man I swear time flies when I'm busy. I didn't think it was October already. Let's get down to the business of explaining everything about why you stop by.

It's been weeks since the end of Alpha World 8: Gamer for Love. It's been bittersweet the last couple of weeks as the reviews have trickled in. I'm glad so many of you have enjoyed it with me over the last two and a half years. Podium is working on the audio for it and if things go right it'll be out before the end of the year. I'll let you know more once I know more on that front.

Audio for Binding Words 3: Hearthglen has finished recording and is now in the editing stage, I should be getting it back to proof and ask for corrections in the next week or two, then it'll quickly be fixed up by Andrea and sent to ACX for them to hold onto it, until they finally give it to you all. Maybe November if we're lucky.

Speaking of Binding Words, I just finished writing book 4: Forged Bonds. That is now sitting in the queue for editing behind AG5. Which my editors have started on as the next book out is in beta reading.

Speaking of the next book out, Resurrection Quest 1: Greenways Goblins is slated for release on October 15th. This series will follow a group of friends who end up in a world similar to the table top role playing game they had just made characters for. The cover is up on Patreon in the art tier, and will be making an appearance on the upcoming LITRPG Podcast.

That segues us in my next topic. I'll be getting interviewed by Ramon of the LITRPG Podcast on Friday the 4th of October, time has not been hammered out yet. We'll be covering Alpha World coming to an end, and probably talk about me being a published author for three years, the anniversary is the 3rd of October.

Speak of that important date, well important to me anyway, I'll be doing giveaways in celebration. Look for them on Discord and Facebook. I'd do another on patreon but their rules about giveaways make it hard to hold one there.

As for what I'm currently writing it's a secret, that I'll tell you more about next month as it's my book out of rotation, and I'm finding my way with it still.

A note for anyone wanting to mail magnets. Use thick, and I mean thick envelopes. Trust me it'll make things so much nicer for you.

See you next month.

September 2019

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the delay with the September blog but Dragoncon was right in the window of the normal release and I was a bit tied up.

Dragoncon was fun Discord is going to have the few photos I took. Well I can upload them to patreon too, so look for them there as well. I had an amazing dinner with a majority of my officer team, and hope that next year the others will be ale to come as well.

Onto the news about books. Let's start with audio. Biding Words 3 starts being recorded tomorrow as long as nothing goes FUBAR. That does mean the release of the audio is likely to be pushed back to the end of October or even into November. I'm okay with that as it means I get to keep Andrea Parsneau as narrator, but it does mean you all have to wait a bit longer, sorry. I'd suggest hoping over to her discord over the next few weeks and listening in as she narrates and finds the voices fot the characters. If you haven't done it yet, you'll get a better appreciation for all the hard work she puts into them.
https://discord.gg/M7nUJDV

Onto E-book news. Alpha World 8: Gamer for Love is looking at a September 15th release if nothing goes wrong. Both my editors were at Dragoncon as well so things got a little crazy with the editing schedule. We should be on track for the 15th though.

The next book to follow that is going to be Resurrection Quest 1. Chapters of that story are starting to appear on Patreon now. So if you want a sneak peak at the next series in the rotation this is your chance. I'll be looking at a mid October release for that book. Oh a note, Podium is under contract for the audio of RQ series. Something to look forward to.

Apocalypse Gates 5 will follow RQ1. It is waiting for the editors behind RQ1, and it's a book with two parts. I don't want to ruin any of it, but I think it was a fun book. No tentative date for that besides before the end of the year for now.

Binding Words 4 is currently being written and will be the first book in 2020. I'm already 60K+ into it and the story is coming along as I thought it would. You'll either love me or hate me, time will tell.

That about wraps up all the news on stories. Life is a bit hectic for me as I help my parents move houses, but they are getting ready for retirement and I owe them a lot for all they've done for me over the last forty-ish years. It shouldn't affect my production but thought you might like to know.

Until next month, may the road rise up to meet you,
Daniel Schinhofen

August 2019

Is it August already? Damn time seems to be flying by. Okay let's jump into the updates.

First off, Hearthglen book 3 of Binding Words went live last month and did well. Though I did get a lot of flack for the ending. All I can say is, I could have made it even worse, but was talked out of it by my team of alpha readers and editors. The audio for BW3, will be done by Andrea Parsneau, who will be starting it in a couple of days. Audio probably won't be out until October, as the process takes a bit.

Next up, I'm a couple days away from finishing up AG5 text. From there it will go to my editors to sit behind the new series that is going to be taking the spot of Alpha World in the rotation. Okay let me just give you the quick breakdown of what the schedule looks like.

NPC's Lives 1: Tales of the Dead Man Inn-- up for preorder now, live on the 7th of August.
Alpha World 8: Gamer for Love-- September 15th
Binding Words 3 Audio-- Octoberish
Resurrection Quest 1: Title TBD-- November 15th
Apocalypse Gates 5: Title TBD-- January 1st

Okay now that you have a broad look at what is coming let's talk a bit more about them.

NPC's Lives is going to be my catch all series for my short stories. It won't always focus solely in a single world, but the first one does hence the title. Podium has the audio rights to it, so Peter will be doing the audio to keep the voices consistent.

AW8: Gamer for Love, the title changed and so did the artwork for this book. I like the symmetry of Gamer for Life and Gamer for Love, brining the story full circle in a few ways. I'm sad the journey is over, but at th same time I love how I finished this series, though some of you might hate me.

BW3 audio, is in Andie's hands at this point. She'll be starting on it in a few days and will be recording it through Dragoncon. That gets followed with corrections and proofing, and then ACX sitting on it for up to 15 business days. Which means the audio book is likely to be released in October.

Resurrection Quest...this is what will slot into AW place in my rotation, but gets bumped into this slot as I wrote it already, and I want it out before the end of the year. The story follows a group of friends portaled to a world that runs like a number of tabletop games. This isn't going to be harem, no have any explicit scenes, or at least it shouldn't sometimes my books go places I don't expect.

I'm almost done on AG5. This book seems to have two parts, different yet part of the overall story of Alvin's journey in this game. I enjoyed writing it and I hope you all enjoy reading it.

That's the book stuff to this point. The extra stuff is I have a discord that is specifically for my books now. https://discord.gg/xEZUzma   I hope to see you all there, as I lurk a lot.

I'll be at Dragoncon end of this month, which is a week of no writing for me...good and bad there. If your at the con, I'll have my phone with me which hooks to my social media, so it should be easy to meet up for a talk, drink, or similar.

I think that about does it. Until next month, oh yeah, next months post is going to be late by a few days as I'll be at the con until the 3rd. So next months post will be the 5th or there about.

Regards,
Daniel Schinhofen

July 2019

Well June is past and July is upon us. That means legalized explosives where I live. If I survive the 4th of July, I'm sure you will all be happy. June was a quiet month, the only big news was AW7 Audio from Podium publishing went live on the 25th. Here's the link:
DARKHAND

What's coming in July besides me playing with explosives? Well let's get this month rolling shall we.

First Binding Words 3: Hearthglen is live and here are the most common links for it.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TRJQZ3G
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07TRJQZ3G
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07TRJQZ3G
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07TRJQZ3G

The good news to go along with that book release, is that Andrea Parsneau will be picking the audio narration back up. That's right folks we still get Andie for this series, celebrate with me. The bad news for that though is Andie is swamped with work, which is great for her. Andie is my overall top narrator and I try to get her to do all my books, sadly as stated above she is swamped with work, because she is amazing. What that means for us is that she won't start recording the audio until August, which will push the audio being live into late September or even early October. I'm okay with the wait though, because Andie will make it well worth the wait.

And the audio front which has dominated this blog post so far, July will also see the release of AG4: Elven Accord. I don't have a date for it yet, because that's at the whim of ACX and Audible. Tess Irondale reprises her role as the narrator of that series. Tess had big shoes to step into when she took over the series when Andie stepped away from it, but she did an amazing job, and does so again with this book. Tess will be the narrator for the series going forward, unless something unforeseen happens.

That was all the super big news. But we still have a few odds and ends to hit up.

The next Live Chat on Facebook will be July 15th, at 5 P.M. PST, or is that PDT now? Meh you get the idea. I'll be giving away prizes as normal, and answering questions and generally chatting with you all to thank you for being fans.

Another note, is that I've booked room and flight plans for Dragoncon. I will be there this year, it was a little up in the air for a couple of months, but I'm going to make it now. This will be touched upon again in the next two months blogs as well. More so as Septembers will probably be a little late because of Dragoncon.

That's all I can think of for this month. Thanks for giving me a few minutes of your time, I hope you enjoy all the audio goodness as well as BW3: Hearthglen.

Until next month,
Daniel Schinhofen

June 2019

I swear May had just started, but it's over and now we're on to June. Time seems to be moving faster then I can keep up with at times. Truthfully though it was probably due to all the stuff that was going on last month. That's all water under the bridge now though, let's look forward to what June has to offer.
Okay first one more thing, over 30 prizes were given away last month between Patreon's 2 year anniversary giveaway and the giveaway on Facebook for my 1 year fulltime writer anniversary. I just barely got them all shipped too. I'll be doing the standard giveaways during the live chat's, but the big events will get special giveaways in the future too, but maybe not so many prizes next time.

Speaking of giveaway's let's get info for this month rolling. June's Facebook Live Chat will be held on the 15th at 8 PM PST. A later time and on a weekend, hopefully this will get more people to attend the chat, we shall have to see.

For audio we have AG4: Elven Accord starting to be recorded by Tess Irondale, I hope to have that ready sometime in July.
AW7: Darkhand audio should be up later this month or early next, Podium gave me a tentative date of the 27th, but it hasn't been confirmed yet.

For ebooks, well AG4: Elven Accord went out on May 15th, if you missed it here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RWLZF52
That is why June is going to be barren for me. If things stay on schedule though I'll be able to move Binding Words 3 from it's expected date of August 1st to sometime in July, pay attention to Twitter, Facebook, and the like for updates on that, though I hope to have the beta for BW3 started before June ends.

Patreon is currently getting chapters of BW3 to read, sadly the rough artwork has slowed down some, I'm trying to get them posted every other Sunday at this time, but it'll all come down to what the artist gives me. If any of you are artists and want to gift me fan art, I will likely feature them on them on a Sunday as well, just be aware that gives me the right to use the images for Patreon at the very least.

I did mention BW3, and audio books, and I know some of you have to be wondering if Andrea is going to be back for book 3. At this time we have an agreement in place, so unless something goes wonky it should be a go, much to my relief. I'm entirely happy that Andie is continuing on with this series, and hope she will do so for the entire series.

For those wondering about production schedule I'll give you a heads-up here. next is BW3, slated for August 1st, but more then likely out in July. Following that is AW8, which is going to be the last Alpha World book, and that is slated for October. I'd love to get it out faster, but AW8 is a thick book over 160k words, which means it'll need extra love by the editors as opposed to my standard 100k books. Following AW8 is the first book of a new series, name TBD at this time, release slated for December.

I know that got your attention, and you are probably wondering about this new series. It is loosely based on tabletop rpg mechanics, but is a portal fantasy for a group of friends. Its a bit of a departure from my other series in that there is no romance angle in the 1st book at all, no idea if that will change as the series goes on but there it is. A mostly safe for late-teens story, wouldn't recommend it to kids still has adult themes in it, but clean in the sex regard at least. I'll talk more about it as time goes on as I'm currently writing it.

I think that about wraps up the talk this month. Thank you all for stopping by again to hear what is going on. I'll be taking at least 2 days off this month for my dad's birthday and father's day, but other then that I should be full steam ahead.

See you in July.

Wednesday, May 1, 2019

May 2019

Here we are at the beginning of May. I swear this year is going by faster then any previous year. Okay, let's jump into all the stuff to talk about, or I'll get sidetracked by something random.

First we should hit the sad news. Alpha World 8 has been written, it ends the series. Before editing it sits at 162,000-ish words, making it my longest book to date, surpassing Last Horizon: Beta which should have been two books. Now before you all get your hopes up let's talk editing.

Currently AG4 is being edited, but it will be with my beta readers in the next week or two, which puts it on track for a June 1st release, or possibly even earlier. As soon as my editors hand that off to beta readers they will be digging into BW3. When they finish that they will then get to AW8, which puts it at an October release at the moment, though that could get moved back considering the length of the book.

I am having an editor also take the short stories from my patreon page, as well as another one that is unpublished, and give them some love. I'll be putting that Anthology up after AW8 is published.

Now before you all start asking, Delta World isn't happening right now. I have my notes for what that will be, but that story is going to wait. In fact the whole slated release schedule will be bumped after AW8 publishes.

Why you are probably asking, well that's because following AW8 will be the first of a new series. Name still pending for it, but it will be a group of table top gamers who end up in another world, that mimics a lot of the rules from the game. AG5 and BW4 will follow that book, and then we'll rotate around like I would normally.

Okay let's answer the question about audio for AW7, it's in the hands of Podium. Which normally means 3 months for the audio book, so a late June or July release is likely, but I don't have a firm date from them yet, so it could fluctuate, I'll keep you posted.

Now for some new stuff. I have two books finally up as physical books. Binding Words 1 & 2 are now available for purchase.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/172671084X
https://www.amazon.com/dp/1095595520
Those links will take you to Amazon to purchase them.
I know some of you are asking about signed copies. I'm not selling them, not yet, maybe not for awhile as that will take some logistics to make work. However I might include them in the big giveaways.

Big giveaways you ask. This moth marks my 2 year Anniversary with Patreon and my 1 year Anniversary as a fulltime writer. Patreon supporters are getting a special giveaway for them. My fulltime writer giveaway will be handled via Facebook. Both of those have the chance of signed copies of books. The next one will be in October to mark my Anniversary as a Published Author.

I think that's everything but the Monthly Live Chat on Facebook. It will be May 14th at 2PM PST. I'll be giving away the usual prizes for that, not likely to include signed books.

That's it folks, you all have a great month, and I'll be back in June with more information, not the least of which should be the news that AG4 is live.

Monday, April 1, 2019

April 2019

Man, that month went by too fast. March was a pain in the ass. Let's digress into life issues for a moment. My best friend's dad died this month, that sucked. Losing a loved one is always hard, family doubly so. I had a plumbing issue that took a full week and 2 plumbers to solve, needless to say the first plumber will never get my business again. The good thing this month was purchasing the land I plan to build a home on.

Okay now that we've done life shit, let's get to the part you all really want to know about, books and audio.

Binding Words 2: Life Bonds is out on audio, preformed by the lovely and talented Andrea Parsneau. I was thrilled to have her once again voice the characters there. If you enjoyed her first rendition in the series you'll love the second.
https://www.audible.com/pd/Life-Bonds-Audiobook/B07PW4LZJH

The next big news is that Alpha World 7: Darkhand is now live for you to read.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NX328XT
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07NX328XT
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07NX328XT
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07NX328XT

Those are the two big things to speak about first. The big news isn't over though, I'm almost done writing Alpha World 8 at this point, and it is the last book of the alpha World Series. I know that makes a lot of you sad, but I have many more stories to come, so please stay with me.

The next book that will come out is going to be Apocalypse Gates 4, around June 1st. Following that will be Binding Words 3, around August 1st. Both of these might move up, depending on the editors and how fast they can get through it.

I held a small live chat when the book was released and gave away 6 copies for free. I'm considering making that a normal release event, not 100% certain yet, but there was a lot of chatter for the hour I did it and it felt good. Speaking of Live Chats, the next monthly one will be April 15th @5pm PST.

I think that about covers everything to touch on this month. What I plan to do with the Alpha world slot once I finish AW8 is still up in the air, but I'm leaning towards filling it with a new series, but time will tell, because I'll be writing AG5, and then BW4 before that happens.

One last thing before I go, remember to review books. Not just mine, but everyone's books. The more reviews a book has the more it gets bumped in Amazon's system to get it in front of people via also bought, and recommended. Reviews matter a great deal to indie authors, so please take a minute or two and leave a review.

Until next month, may the books keep you entertained.

March 2019

Well here we are again, a new month, and a new blog post.

Let's get things rolling. Andrea finished recording Binding Words 2 audio. Now it is going to her proofer. Once they finish it she'll put it up for me to proof it. Once I sign off it will go to ACX to hand it over to Audible. If everything goes as it should we are looking at late March release of it for you all to grab.

Revisiting my post from last month about AG becoming a once a year series. I've heard a lot from you guys that you really enjoy the series and would like it to continue as it is. I'm currently reconsidering due to the outpouring on this front, and on Facebook. I'm on the fence right now about which way to go, especially with AW wrapping up.

Speaking of Alpha World, book 7 should be ready for the April 1st release. The news that a lot of you don't want to hear though is book 8 is going to be the last of the series following Alburet/Seamus in Alpha World. I'm wrapping up the tale with book 8.

What does that mean for Alburet? Still not 100% certain, I've heard the outcry that people want Delta World. It's not 100% certain he'll complete the quest he was given by Victoria, if he doesn't then well Delta World wouldn't be a fun series at all. If I immediately follow AW with DW, that wouldn't let me explore any other series that I have been bouncing around, without sacrificing AG or BW.

So I'm sure you can all see the conundrum I'm in with what to do here. The next series I want to write is the more tabletop-esque, with a slower level growth but with definite abilities that are granted at each level.

What else do I need to cover this month...maybe the long awaited store?
Yeah, you heard me right, I finally have the beginnings of a store. It's starting small but will likely grow with more items offered once we see what you think. Where is this mythical store you ask? It can be found via my website, or by taking this handy link:
https://schinhofenbooks.myshopify.com/

I understand that not everyone can throw cash at things, and as such I'll still be giving away things during the Live Chats on the fan page. The next one will be held on March 13th, 2019 @1200 PM PST. So, if you would like a chance at a shirt, ebook, or audio, make sure to show up and join in on the fun.

Which brings me to another question I'd like to hear back on from you guys. Would you like a Live Chat the day before the books go live to let you know and maybe have the chance at winning a free ebook for the one coming out. It would be held on the fan page over on Facebook. Leave me your comments on a yea or nay.

Until next month, keep on grinding that XP, the next level isn't far away.

February 2019

We made it through the first month of the year. Let's dig into the nitty-gritty of all the stuff to tell shall we?

Let's start with books; Binding Words 2: Life Bonds is now out for consumption. It actually went live a few days ago, as I got it out early. If you don't know what I'm talking about Binding Words is the series that started with Morrigan's Bidding. The story picks up with Sean, Fiona, and Myna traveling across country to distance themselves from the burning ruins of Oakwood.

Next up Apocalypse Gates 3: Gearing Up is out on audible.

The narrator is Tess Irondale, so it's a shift from Andrea Parsneau's style and voice, but she does a good job with it, and is going to be the voice of the story going forward.

Speaking of audio, Andrea has signed on to do Binding Words 2, so rejoice! I know I do.

Moving on, the idea of a store is once again in play. I've handed this project over to my sister, who is working with a print on demand company to make it work. I'll update if it actually moves forward but talks are currently underway.

The next Facebook Live Chat is slated for 2-15-19 @ 5 pm PST. I'll be giving away shirts, ebooks, and audio books as normal. I'm considering doing live chats on book release day and giving out copies of the new book. I did it as an impromptu one this time and had decent turn out for it. The problem for ebooks being I only have a US Amazon account so all my gifts are US gifts.

The next book out will be Alpha World 7: Darkhand. It is currently slated for 4-1-19, which is April Fools, but maybe I'll get it out a little early like I did BW2. Once that is done the editors will be working on AG4.

Currently I'm writing BW3, I should be done with it in the next few days, and then I'll be off to write AW8. I'm hoping that I can wrap up Alpha World with book 8, but we shall see.

Now the quasi bad news. I'm going to be trading off writing slots of the AG spot with a new story. Which means that AG will be getting 1 book a year instead of 2, and the new story will be taking that slot instead.
I know you're all asking what the new story is going to be right now. Frankly I have a few to pick from, the short list as I call it. It is likely to be a more level based series, with abilities that can be used x number of times per day for each of the characters. More in line with a tabletop roleplaying game then anything I've written in the past. But I'll know more when I get to that spot which will be after I write AW8.

That wraps up the monthly ramble of what I have going on. Before we say goodbye, let me remind you that reviews matter. Reviews help push the book up the algorithm that Amazon uses to put the book before others, so please take the time and reviews the books you read, not just mine, but any book you enjoy.

Until March, thank you for taking your time to keep up with me,
Daniel Schinhofen

January 2019

Well last year sure went by fast, and a lot of life changes happened along the way. Let's do a quick recap shall we, as I was surprised by what the year brought; ebooks are in yellow, audio is in green, and other is in blue.

Playing for Keeps, AW4 was published March 1st.
Audio for AG1 went live on March 20th.
Fractured Spirit, AW5 was published May 1st.
I took the leap and became a fulltime author at the end of May.
Audio for AW4 went live on June 19th
Valley of Death, AG2 was release June 30th.
Audio for AW5 went live on August 7th.
Morrigan's Bidding, BW1 was released August 15th.
Audio for Ag2 went live on August 20th.
Schinhofenbooks.com goes live in September.
Path to Peace, AW6 was released October 1st.
Audio for BW1 went live on October 25th.
Gearing Up, AG3 was released November 25th.
Audio for AW6 went live on December 11th.

That is a lot of production in a single year. Funnily enough I don't recall feeling that busy, but damn that is a lot of stuff going on. The part that wasn't work for me was the AW audio, as that was all done through Podium.

Okay let's look at what this year is going to be bringing us. My current list of goals to hit are:

BW2, Early February.
AW7, Early April.
AG4, Early June.
BW3, Early August.
Attend Dragoncon at the end of August.
AW8, Early October- this might be the last Alpha World.
AG5, Early December.

That doesn't include the audio for the series as that will be as I can get the narrators to slot in for them, I try to get it going as soon as I can after launch.

If I wrap up Alpha World in book 8 that will free me to start a different series, which I have so many ideas for, or to possibly revisit the Bananas from Last Horizon, or go off to Delta World, depending on how AW wraps up. That is a big if, as it might take me 9 or possibly 10 books to truly wrap up the Alpha World series, but it is possible.

I think that gets us caught up on the old, and tells you about the new, but what about right now. Let's give you the normal break down shall we?

AG3 audio is waiting on ACX to finish QA on it. Sadly Andrea isn't the narrator, luckily I was able to snag Tess Irondale to take over the series. Tess' style is different then Andie's but overall she does a solid job with it, and I hope you all enjoy it. Tess should be the narrator going forward on the series.

Andie is on board to do the audio for Binding Words still, so rejoice with me for that. She'll be starting on that shortly after the book goes live, exact date unknown at this time.

BW2 is almost done with the editors and will be going off to the beta readers before too much longer. If that goes as planned it might sneak out at the end of January instead of February. Waiting for the editors, once they finish BW2 is AW7, and waiting behind that is AG4 already done and waiting.

I started BW3 just a couple of days ago, and it has a lot of potential going for it. I'm really excited to dig into the story even more then I have. For those who are curious, BW1 was about 80k words, BW2 before the edits was sitting at 102k, so it'll be a longer book then the 1st one.

Since I've gone fulltime, I have taken on a fulltime editor, which is why I hope to start turning stories around faster. I've also taken on an artist, Grimmhelm has done a number of fan pieces for me, and has been the one doing the last few covers.

The fan page Live Chats have gone to 1 every month, to be held on or around the 15th of each month. January's will be held on the 14th at 8 PM PST. I'll talk for as long as we have a decent amount of people, and I'll be giving shirts, ebooks, and audio books away, so stop on by.

I think that wraps it all up. My longest blog post to date, but it was a year in review and a peek ahead.

See you all next month.
