September 2020

We made it to September. Which has some really good news waiting for you all.

Let's start with the big news first.

Aether's Revival 1: Aether's Blessing, audio book, is out now. Enjoy the smooth, dulcet tones, of Andie bringing the book to life. It's just short of 18 hours long, so lots of goodness there.

With that big news out of the way, let's hit the bigger news...
Aether's Revival 2: Aether's Guard is now out and ready for you in ebook format. The continued journey of Gregory and Yukiko as they traverse the first year at the academy. I do hope you all enjoy it.

I mean that was it for the big, big, big, news. So I hope it was satisfying for you, it was for me.
In other news I'm currently finishing up Apocalypse Gates 7: Title to be determined. I have a couple in mind but I haven't pinned one down yet. My editors have already started work on it though, and preview chapters will be on Patreon starting on Thursday September 3rd.

At the moment I'm eyeing book 8 as the place to wrap up the North American storyline of AG. We'll have to see how things go with book 7, but unless it gets showered in love all over again, I'm afraid that book 8 might see the series have a soft ending.

Now for those who are wondering what comes after AG. You probably guessed it, but let's just have it said. Luck's Voice 2 will be the book to follow it. I had a lot of fun with Luck's Voice 1, and have been looking forward to getting back to the western setting.

After that I will be moving onto BW6, which I know a lot of you are eager for. So it's coming, but there are other books to get to first. I am looking forward to showing you all what comes after the fight too. Hopefully by then you'll have forgiven me.

That wraps up book information that I have right now.
Audio books Andie is slated to do recording for LV1, and BW5, she's busy and will get to them when they come up in her schedule, so let her work. It'll be worth the small time we wait to have her magical voice preforming the book.

Next Facebook live chat will be on September 15th @2pm PDT. In case you want to get your hands on the challenge coins I give out during those events. And just so you know I'm working on getting one made for AR as o today, they won't be ready for September but they should be after that.

Until next month, stay safe.

  1. Nice was hoping for an update on the audio for AR1 and AR 2 is out 2 weeks earlier than you had mentioned. Bought it and will review when done, thanks for your hard work.

  2. Hey man, really do love your books. I was wondering though, would it be possible for you to start adding a quick 1-2 page "what came before" catch up either on your website somewhere or in the books? Or point me to it it it already exists somewhere? I tend to forget some details after awhile.

    1. As a long time reader of your books and first time commenter, i second this. Having a reading addiction is awesome but my main drawback is remebering which small details pertain to which book series.

Love the work and thanks for your time

    2. Most of my blurbs are structured in a quick recap of what came before fashion. Other then that I'd say if you're fine with online come hit the discord and people there are more then willing to talk about the books and help refresh things.

  3. Really slow burn novel. Fortunately, KU allows me to read these really long-winded books and I can skip past all the exceedingly long study periods and just skip to the fights and very occasional magic use. I probably skim read 85%, but really enjoy the 15%. I was shocked at the lack of porn-type scenes. Those are what the author does best, imo. Still worth the time.

    1. If you didn't like the majority of the book you probably won't enjoy the rest of the series.

  4. Just finished AR2, gave it 5 stars and enjoyed every page, great addition to the series. I enjoyed how the battles were not such a close call this time reflecting our MC's skill and training. I also like the love and battle tension very well done and the slow burn on Greg's skills. Its cool to see how he is going to become OP but also how he can be countered. I also enjoyed the positive tone in the book, perfect brain candy especially for this FUBAR year. One final piece every time I read Jenn's full name it makes me smile.

  5. I loved AR1 cant wait for book 2 to be narrated. I'm glad you stick with Andrea as she brings a lot to the books she dose.

  6. Read through AR2 in about a day. Exceptional (I left the appropriate 5 star review).

I love the fact that unlike many other "cultivation" narratives, instead of focusing on the direct fights, the focus on AR is more of the relationships and the non-combat conflicts between the characters.

That isn't to say that the combat and the tournaments so far haven't been exciting as well, the semifinals in both book one and two where highly enjoyable nail biters.

I'm curious to see if you can keep the focus on character development through the MC's "deployment", as the story line seems to indicate that they will eventually be posted in a conflict zone, or a zone where conflict will happen.

Can't wait for the the next one in the series...

...as well as the next AG...
    ...and the next BW...
    ...and the next LV...

I'll do my best, as I always do to keep the story flowing smoothly.

  7. I really enjoyed AR1 and was anxiously waiting for 2 to be released. And while I did enjoy AR2 as well, I felt there was something missing. I have been thinking about it and would like to share it as constructive criticism: 1. I hope there will be more world building in the future. I enjoyed how the MC learned more about the world in book one, which was not shown as much in book 2. There are so many mysteries hinted at and the MC studies so much, it would be great if the reader learned more about the world when the MC does: Who or what is aethere? What about the gods? Do other countries have different magic? Etc.. There was too much of repetitive dialogs like "good morning" "good day" "yes dear" instead.
    2. While I know that harem is a big thing for the author and it fits very well in BW, I hope it will be less prominent in AR. The MC is set up to be a leader, I hope his following will include men and women, not all of which are sexually attracted to the MC. It is somewhat disconcerting for me, that seemingly all close relationships between the MC and single females have to end up in sex. There can be friendship or loyalty by women without them wanting to fuck the hero!

    1. Unknown,
It's a long road for the series, things will come out over time. I try to avoid massive world building all at once as it becomes dry and historical if done all at once.
As for Harem, yes it's a thing that I write. There are women that are close to him that aren't trying to sleep with him. Dia, Velma, Sarinia, and Murium to name a few.
As for weather or not there will be more, and such, well he's supposed to be in charge of a unit of guards at some point so...

  8. Just finished AR 1&2 as well as LV 1 this week. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get into LV because of the western setting, but I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next.

  10. Real happy to see another Apoc Gates! Had a lot of fun burning through all of them in a row over the summer.
You're on my must buy list for That and Binding Words and Luck's Voice. Really like all of them and want to see more!

  11. slight spoiler -

Just finished Aether's Revival 1&2 and im confused about the gloves...there was only a slight mention at the end of book 1 of putting them on and then it seemed like they were forgotten until 80% of the way through book 2 when he had apparently just been wearing them for 6 months without comment and he suddenly knew how to use them with no prior explanation.

Other than that i enjoyed the books, i think his magic needs to be fleshed out a bit more, 1300 pages and we barely know what the basics of his magic can do.

The gloves are basically always on unless he is bathing. As for how they work, he doesn't know, they just do what they do.
His magic is being slowly revealed as he learns about it, this is a slow series, compare building a bike and learning to ride it to building a car and driving it. That's what he's doing, it'll take him longer to know and control his magic than the others.
Well book 2 ended on the wedding night, so it's night like there was time for the reveal to take place.
